Hi folks. In Dec. I bought a Roger Portable internet receiver. For the first month it just flew right along. I was extremely happy with it. For the last two months the time it takes to open a website and it's pages has slowed to dial up speed. Strangely, when I down load something from a site, it flies right alone. It just takes forever to get to the page. I contacted Rogers and they thought it was a firewall issue. It wasn't. When a speed test is done it shows the upload and download speed as top notch. I'm using a relatively new iMac Version 10.5.6 with dual Intel processors and a gig of ram. If anyone has any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to solved the problem, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Thanks for replying. I'm actually on Firefox as I write this. I keep testing both Firefox and Safari each time I try something but they are both slow until it comes to downloading. Are there any programs out there that check Macs for malicious software? It almost seems as if every web page is going through some other program before it opens on my browser.

I hope you didn't install Spring Cleaning or any other Smith Micro app on your computer. I had really strange things happen when I did, like all graphics on web pages disappearing months later and a Net Blockade sign showing up. Stay away form this stuff.
