Alas, poor Roger!

Reward: Left my MacBook Pro laptop in a taxi, plus speaker for computer voice. Hotel Splendid, Cannes.
Laptop still unfound. Disaster. Using a borrowed MacBook. My work will suffer. But I will prevail. Zivio!

Uh, you do know that he lost his jaw and the ability to speak some years ago to cancer, and that he uses specialized software on his Mac to speak to people? And that he was travelling in France at the time?

That may make it just a tad more complex than simply slapping the Amex card on the AppleStore counter and buying 2 or 3 new ones.

His voice synth software is custom made so it's not a matter of loading it up again. The company that is making the software is manually converting samples of his voice from recordings so that he actually sounds like himself and not some generic computer generated voice.

It's really cool tech and they're basically making a sound dictionary of his voice from all his previous recordings on tv/radio and etc. Hope they find his MBP back.
