Problems with sound from headphone jack

Hi all, I am having troubles with my headphone jack on my Quicksilver.

I can hear sound normally through the central speaker on the tower, however, when I plug in headphones into the jack, no sound comes out. This problem is very recent.

Hardware issue ? Dead headphone jack ?

Have you tried more than one connection to the HP jack? For some reason, they are finicky. The cable I had going to an external mixer from my old G4 tower made weird noises and sometimes cut out with my QS. I thought it was a hardware issue, but it turned out to be just the cable. Had to try two more before it stopped.

Hi there thewitt, thanks for the advice.

It is the second pair of headphones I try, I do hear weird sounds through them, but no music. I will try and get my hands on a third one.
