Probably the best place to get quality used macs is the refurb site on the Apple Canada website. It is down the left hand column on the store page. Comes very well tested and a one year warranty. It is used, priced as such but pretty much new.

 

Cash is good for a used computer bought in a private sale, but you get certain protections if you use your credit card and buy from a store.

Otherwise, check the ehMac classifieds, you can also post a "Want to Buy" ad there, although a thread like this one is, ahem, more prominent in certain ways...

Try also carbonation.com and, if appropriate, university computer stores/bookstores.

 

Even try CPUsed on Dupont Street.

 

That would be good advice if:

(1) CPUsed wasn't nearly universally reviled, and

(2) the store was still located on Dupont Street.

 

Call Carbon Computing, on Queen St, East of Broadview.

They might have some trade-ins??
