Hi,
Recently purchased a used Intel (Late 2006) XServe from a liquidator. The XServe has 10.4 installed and the serial number sticker on the front, but the sticker is damaged and I do not have a complete number.
I am waiting on replacement discs for 10.4 to reset the password so I can gain access to the OS currently installed. Does anyone know where I could find a copy of the license number stored on somewhere in the OS in a file or something? I'd really like to not have to purchase another copy just to get the a valid license. I have been able to browse the disc via Target Disk Mode, and could not find anything (but I admit, I wasn't sure what to look for). At least there was no plain-text file with the serial number in a user's directory.
Thanks for looking!
