seeking one of these, i was in contact with the guy who sold this one on ebay.. but like typical american, he was unable to respond [lol this is ehmac.ca so i can say that eh?? ]to a simple email to tell me he had relisted it.. i was emailing him + emailing him because his listing had expired + noone had bid on it.. so he relists it and doesnt tell me .. and someone buys it for 25$.. sigh

Those old Griffin G-port serial adapters seem to be in pretty short and scarce supply, but why not go with one of the external options that are more readily available, even from some suppliers, such as:

- Mac Keyspan USB Adapters USA-28X B

PS: The Mac Keyspan USB Adapters USA-28X B can only use one of the ports for some things and neither support AppleTalk if you need that.

PPS: The Asante Talk Ethernet to LocalTalk Bridge still works for our LAN network and can utilize our old HP 4ML Laserjet Mac serial/localtalk/AppleTalk only printer using an old networked Mac running 10.5.8 as a shared print server - and even all 10.9.2 Macs can print to it, even via wireless with our setup!!

i am aware of these other options,
and you are correct i may have to resort to this,
but in the meantime i am doing what i can to try to locate
one of the original gport or stealth ports for pci macs

i ended up finding a megawolf PCI 2 port serial adapter for my B+W G3 called the "remus"
apparently these cards are quite rare now

Anyway, helpful in case anyone is looking for or needing one.

I wonder if it supports AppleTalk but Apple killed that with OS X 10.6.x and later.
And yes, I still have my old AsanteTalk serial adapter connected but not often used these day with an old G5 iMac under the desk at the back. ;-)

im pretty sure it does support localtalk yes! it works 100% exactly the same as the geethree stealth or griffin gport modem/serial adapters

i remember alot of people always talking about these localtalk ethernet adapters but i
never really understood what they were so useful for, ?

what is the possible modern day application of the serial over ethernet?

the original adapter i was looking for is for my b+w G3 450mhz machine
(slightly different connector/form factor than the ones for a G4)
i still never got one for it, but i found a megawolf serial pci card with two rs-422 ports
i also have a geethree stealth imac adapter that is compatible with the b+w g3's modem connector but i cant mount it in the machine because i dont have the stupid metal box that the original production phase b+w's used to store/mount the modem card inside the machine..

i may have to get someone to resolder the connector off the modem to the imac stealth card to be able to screw it into the b+w chassis

I don't know if there is anything, at least not with any recent Mac or OS.

Don't forget there's always good strong double-sided tape or even hot glue/guns if you don't need any electrical circuit.
