I am hoping to get a job soon, to pay for some upgrade before leopard, and am wondering if this hard drive will fit into my MacBook?

Are all 250 Gb drives slender enough to go into the MacBook?
I thought some were too thick.
Hard to know on th eBay one since they seller doesn't provide specs, manufacturer or model number.

Who are we to question an Apple Certified Technician.

I also believe some larger GB notebook drives are thicker then others, due to an extra platter I would assume.
I would be inclined to ask the seller for the make and model of the drive, he should'nt have a problem supplying this information.

I have never seen a 250GB Notebook drive.

Checking Toshiba and Seagate (two of the biggest notebook hard drive suppliers), the largest I could find on their websites was 200GB

The seller doesn't list any make or model information.

Do NOT buy this hard drive.

Why would anybody buy a hard drive if they don't know the manufacturer?

Why would anybody buy a hard drive if they had no way to return it if something goes wrong, where there is no warranty, and if there was a warranty, it would likely not be honoured (where would you ship it) since the product is being sold internationally?

Unless you really need to be mobile with 250GB, get a 7200 rpm SATA hard drive from some local and reliable source. Don't take chances with your data. Get a huge (cheaper) backup and do rotating backups instead.

Check your favorite Canadian dealers: The price on this once it is available should be conSIDerably below US$279

The eBay seller (and OWC, at US$299 I might add) either are taking pre-orders or have a limited amount of stock and are offering at a premium price, it would seem.

Remember that the eBay seller has 30 or 45 days (can't remember) before you can complain, so if they string you along far enough, they might get some stock in on the product. In the meantime, they're not gonna refund you the money if the price drops while you are waiting for it.
