Will Staples stop carrying Imacs?

In Quebec, Staples is called Bureau en Gros ( En Gros refers to wholesale). I called the Gatineau store to see if they had the new keyboards and was told they had gotten rid of all their Apple computer stock because it wasn't selling. The Hull store still has their stock though.
Wonder if this is a local decision only or will it be implemented across the board?
BTW, anyone know who carries the new kb's besides Apple? I would like to buy one but not have to pay the shipping...

The Woodstock store (Ontario), stopped selling Macs as well. When I questioned them about it. I was told it was a local preference. They did not have anyone with enough knowledge about Macs to sell them. I remember teaching a few of the sales people how to use and compare the Macbooks they had. A few of them were surprised how easy they were to use, and how powerful they really were. I even sold 3 of them to customers. Though I did not receive a commission. :ptptptptp LOL!!!

To make a long story short (too late), many store will still sell Macs and related products.
Probably a good thing. A poorly executed sales program (i.e. no product knowledge) will likely turn more people off the Mac. Do it right, or don't do it at all.

It's sad if a customer has to come in and train the staff on features and benefits.
I had gone to a staples to view macbooks and they had none. But I checking their site, the macbook ad the macbook pro where both $100 more. If it has been like that I see why they aren't selling

Definitely!

I was at Compusmart last year waiting to pick up some RAM and the mother and her teenage daughter were ahead of me in line. They had bought a MacBook at the store and were asking how to install a photo program that they got with their printer.

The guy behind the tech counter had no clue about Macs at all.

The program was Mac compatible, but for whatever reason it would not work. I showed them iPhoto, explained it was probably much better than the junk they give you with a printer and told them to check out WestWorld computers if they needed anything Mac related.

I could tell from the look on the mother's face that she felt they had got in over their heads when they bought the Mac.

If a company is going to sell Macs it should spend a bit of time getting their tech people some training on it.

The amazing thing was that the employees, wanted the knowledge. There just no support for it from management.

That was easy!
Staples downtown Toronto (University Ave.) and the Gerrard Square store both don't have any mac computers at all anymore. Both have said 'cause the Apple stores moved in and they can't sell Macs anymore.

They did however, say that you can order any Mac products through Staples still, but the sales people seemed kinda perplexed why anyone would want to do that. (and how!)
There used to be more Staples stores that carried Macs, but now only the stores that had decent Mac sales still have them.

My nearest Staples is right next to an Apple reseller, and surprisingly, they still sell Macs.

They got rid of all their old iMacs, but they still have the MacBooks (black and mid-level white). They couldn't tell me when (or even if) they'd be getting the new iMacs.
The Bureau en Gros in Rimouski, Qc, stil have iPods and one MacBook. They used to have a 17" white iMac, now it is gone. Wandering if they will have the aluminium model. I'M looking forward to see it just before I made final decision as to if I go with an iMac or a mini and my own display.
