jonmon - the amount of posts can be seen on the main page (forum summary), that's most likely where he got his information, no special inside track needed.

ehMax, since there have been discontinued thread, I would be curious to know exactly what the total number of posts to all threads -- current and extinct -- have been since the inception of this fine site? I am not even sure if this is possible to calculate, but I thought about it when this thread was close to 30k.

Kudos to you on being the first to scale the heights of a 30k thread.
