I'm assuming that you're trying to match the existing stick in a new iMac? No idea where to find Samsung RAM in T.O, or even from Canadian online suppliers (just moved back after 16 years in the US), but I did find it at OtherWorldComputing in the US. I've dealt with them many, many times - very reputable and they will ship worldwide.

Try calling them to find out what the shipping is likely to cost etc. (there should be no duty on computer products AFAIK)

Sales: 800.275.4576 (not sure if this number will work from Canada or not)
International: 815.338.8658

Or call Canada RAM and ask them about whether or not the iMac is that picky about matched pairs...it's a little unclear, especially when you read this:

http://www.tuaw.com/2006/11/15/tuaw-mythbusting-core-2-duo-with-3gb-ram-slower-than-with-2gb/ - the iMac is also discussed in the responses.

Thanks for the advice and links. I called Carbon earlier and they only sell Apple OEM, which they sell for about $120 for 1G. OWC looks good but shipping is about $20, and there are taxes at the border, etc. I'll check some other sources.

There is conflicting information on Apple's website as to what type or RAM the iMac takes. When I look at the specs for the RAM on the iMac page it states SDRAM. When I look at the Memory upgrades section for the same iMac it shows SO-DIMM RAM.

Can anyone confirm what kind of RAM is used in the iMac?

Either way, is there a reason you only want Samsung? I'd look at the specs of the memory and get RAM that meets the specs, not the brand. Check out Canada Computers - Your Neighbourhood Computer Store and Service Centre - PC Systems and Hardware Components, Notebooks, Electronics, and more. for local deals. I've got great deals from NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Great Technology, Service and Selection. (out of Vancouver) for SO-DIMM memory. You pay shipping, but don't pay PST.
