You bought the $3000 SSD one? Wow. Can I ask what you are using the machine for?
I am currently now using it as my primary machine, after moving a Mac Mini that I was using to a 32" LCD TV with EyeTV. That one will act as a file server, PVR, etc.. I intend to use the MBA mostly with iWork Suite, iLife, Parallels PC (Win XP Access Database Apps/programming), Google Earth/Mapping, PhotoShop, but no serious video. Todays tests with loading Win XP is more than acceptable for me. As well, test edits on RAW 10.2 megapixel images in Photoshop went surprisingly well.
Application launching and boot times are very fast with ~25 sec for a cold startup ..1 to 2 sec from sleep, and 1 to 2 bounces for most common apps. I would argue the speed of the SSD easily makes up for the 1.8 processor. The only thing I would be concerned about is for major 3D graphics rendering/gaming (have not tested this, and probably will not). But I will not be using it for this... This system is sized well for my needs over the next 3 yrs. + while I complete graduate studies, use it during meetings/presentations, carry it while traveling, and of course, around town at WiFi hotspots.
I recommend the SSD model if you budget it in and can justify the extra cost. Yes, it was expensive (even after the $200 discount they gave me).. and prices will drop (please thank me for this).. and I can tell you this is the future of drive technology.
Also.. I should mention that I have tested it with a dual monitor (Apple cinema 20"), works perfect. It also drives my 32" LCD TV at 1280x722 with HD video at 480p-720p with no problems as far as I could tell. Don't even think of 1280p in any situation. I also stripped all the extra language packs in Leopard, and used Xslimmer to reduce app sizes. Cheers.
