Hey all,

I was wondering what people do with their old Macs?

I have. 2007 MacBook Pro running El Capitan.
2009 MacPro also on El Capitan.
A couple of vintage G4’s collecting dust

both of these are replaced with newer machines. I’m just not sure how I could utilize them.

Normally trade-in for the new Mac, but also try and sell them privately

Stuff that old has minimal resale value and no trade-in value. Check the offer price on these items on kijiji and then undercut their price with your own ad. Example: lowest asking price for a 2009 Mac Pro on local kijiji is about $250 -- but no takers since this was posted a month ago.

I keep my 2009 iMac in my second office at home. Still works great. My kids tend to use this one. My 2019 one is in my main office.

Donate it to a computer-less pensioner or senior or a single parent and possibly any children they may have, even an old 24" 2007 iMac is still working well for most stuff that my wife still uses.
Lots of useful life left and such similar Macs.
