No, it does - it's just that the drivers are not built-in. Usually the card-makers provide them.

The Tempo Trio is a great way to add so much and only use one PCI slot. What machine are you upgrading? The 2 Macs I mentioned are both running EIDE hard drives through Sonnet ATA cards. The new drives make quite a difference in speed. Just beware you don't get caught up in the "upgrade trap" and find yourself spending more than you anticipated. Sometimes it's better to save a few more dollars and buy a new machine.
