Thats not 2006. Thats the current shipping entry level.

The 2006 Macbook 2.0 had a Superdrive.
Not attractive, when you can get a refurb with new warranty, Superdrive and 120 Gb HD from Apple for $1199 (if you are patient and wait til some get posted)
That depends entirely on what one's budget is... I could argue the MacBook is not very attractive when you can get a MBP for only a few hundred more... but if the budget doesn't stretch that far, it's totally irrelevant.
This model now has the same 4 MB shared cache as the faster MacBooks according to LowEndMac.

How old is it ? Could be a good deal if you need something now and you can get it at a decent price.

if Apple are selling them for $1250 new and refurbs for a little less, then depending on condition, balance of warranty & battery life, I think $900=$950 is a very fair price to pay, saving you well over a few hundred bucks for other things....even Applecare, if you deem it necessary.

Similar Macbooks and prior models quickly sold in $925-$1000 range on this board recently.

I guess it depends on how quickly you need/want it.
