just ran virex on my hard drive and it took for ever and a day

As I watched there are tons and tons of files for printers and help and languages that I will never ever ever use

Is there an apple script that will take me back to a basic OSX

ie hey here I am and I run an Epson C40 printer and speak only English so dump all the rest of the crap which I dont want

There has to be mega mega bytes that can be culled from OSX .....

Or am I being stupid that this should be able to cleared on the OS

On VersionTracker, two programs are listed to do just such a thing:

Monolinqual 1.1.2

and

DeLocalizer 1.1

There are also a few others around. Best of luck removing those unneeded files!

thanks for the info I have downloaded both and will have to decide on which .... and then get up enough nerve to actually try it

Brian Scully - I have used one of those a while back, and all it did was free about 300MB on my next to empty hard drive at the time. Never slowed the system or made it faster, nor caused any problems, so I wouldn't worry if I were you.
