Hi all, I want to know if anyone here knows if it's possible to use a pc webcam on a mac. I have an intel. I thought there might be a way.

Hope all are well.

What are you using the webcam for?

iChat - you must use http://www.ecamm.com/mac/ichatusbcam/
Yahoo, or any other generic chat software - as long as the camera has Mac drivers. You can find a list of compatible cameras at http://www.ecamm.com/mac/ichatusbcam/configs.html

On a side note, this was discussed earlier this week in another thread. This board would be better served if people searched for answers instead of clogging it with repetitive questions.

Thank you for your kind answer. The cameras site will, I hope be helpful.

As to the searching, I looked in three other threads and found nothing of use before I had to live my life. I appreciate your sharing your expertise, repetitive though it may have been.

Cheap means USB.

USB cam means you have to use http://www.ecamm.com/mac/ichatusbcam/ to have it work with iChat.

Check out their website for recommended compatible cams.

ya, but it's more fun digging up the dead..

anyhoo, that link with compatible webcams is just a start.. from what i've read, between those two drivers, IOXperts and Macam, chances are pretty good that you'll find one that works... but, to be on the safe side, buy one from somewhere you can return it if it doesn't work..

ohhhh.. right, that's what i was gonna do today... doh!
