The 20th Anniversary of Apple Computer, the company, was marked by the introduction of the 20th Anniversary Macintosh in 1997.

Pictures.

2004 is the 20th year since the Apple Macintosh model computer was introduced by Apple. The first Apple computer with a Mouse was the Apple Lisa, introduced the year earlier (1983).

Although the Lisa was a failure as a product, it introduced much of what would later appear on the Macintosh, such as the Graphics User Interface familiar on all computers today.

Externally it looks a lot like the first product from Compaq Computer, the The Compaq Portable (1983). The CP ran a text-based Disk Operating System (MS_DOS) and I used one at work until about 1993 ( I had a Mac Plus at home).

One is Apple's 20th anniversary as a company. This anniversary that just passed is the Macintosh's 20th anniversary.
