For those who owned, driven or just have a story to tell about the VW Beetle - there's a contest by VW Canada to win a new Beetle (or cash equivalent).

Just log-in to the site, and post your Beetle story!

Mine was a '94 MexiBeetle. Death trap. I'm pretty sure it was a FrankenBeetle, a monstrosity hobbled together from the parts of several willing (or not) donors over the years. It caught on fire once while my wife & baby & I were cruising around looking for a house to buy down here. Where it came to rest (and where we abandoned ship) was precisely in front of the house that we would eventually buy. :yikes: And for spooky bonus - if you go to Google Earth view of my street, there's an identical Black Beetle with the same front bumper spikes (or whatever they call 'em) parked right in front of the house. Destiny or curse, I'm not sure (given the state of my roof right now, I'm leaning toward the latter).

The Mexibeetles were popular for a while as the only "authentic" Bug.
