The latest version of VPC and WinXP - I've been running this for a few years without problems - slow of course, but that's to be expected.

Recently, it seems with every MS software update, it's gotten slower and slower so I AppZapper'd it and I'm going to install it again to see if that helps.

I know that as soon as I install it again, there will be a boatload of updates - is there a way to permanently tell MS to keep their updates?

The only thing I use VPC for is to transfer library books to my MP3 player - requires WMP 10 or higher. Can't happen on the Mac side or to an iPod, there's some pretty intense DRM on the files.

So, does anyone know how to force WinXP to stop trying to install updates?
