Any uploaded image will not show and can not be accessed lately.

I'm guessing the problem started when the security was increased.

Any chance it might get fixed some day reasonably soon???

Thanks,

- Patrick

I'm seeing a lot of broken images - like the icons in the advanced edit window, etc. Certainly some bugs in the system lately.

Oh thank god. I thought I was the only one having problems. It is happening not only in this forum, but also in another forum I frequent!

I'm still on Mavericks 10.9.5 and do not have difficulties in attaching or inserting inline pictures.

However, I do host my pics with:

Imgur.com.

Those of you still hosting pics with Photobucket should be advised that their service has no longer been free since a couple of years.
Because of that, I no longer use Photobucket.

Moreover, since May 25th 2018, we in Europe are plagued with the new EU directive "GDPR" ( General Directive on Privacy or something),
which may have its drawbacks worldwide.

Just to test, here is one of my Imgur pics:

Is that visible all right?

Yup. Quite visible. Even if excessively large, thw window must be scrolled side-wise or enlarged.

In fact quite similar to our Roberts Bank shipping terminal just south of Vancouver BC Canada.

Patrick, you've mentioned this a few times - I've been meaning to ask what browser you're using? I use ehMac with the "New Style-Fluid Width" option (bottom-left of the ehMac window), and while an oversize image may initially appear very wide, it will scale down within a second or two. This is on a desktop Mac, Sierra, Safari 11.1.1

As for the images... right now I'm in the advanced editing window, and all of the icons below (the "Post icons") are not loading (just blue question mark boxes). The Smilies to the right are loading, though. Weird. This has been going on for a few days.

It seems to happen regardless of browser I use, but I am still using Mavericks 10.9.5 mainly so I gather it's due to the OS rather than the browser.

I'll try my El Capitan when I get a chance and see if things show better.

PS: Now your text above is about two full browser windows wide as well.

I haven't seen anything broken, yet. You using Adblock or anything like that?
Yes I am. I have been using tracker- and ad-blockers for a long while now, and this is the first time I am having any issues.

However, I should mention that I am able to view all inline images posted by others. It is only the icons in the list of topics or list of threads etc. that I am unable to see. I see the Blue square with a question mark inside.

I also am unable to see the icons immediately below this very compose window (the one that says "You may choose an icon for your message from the following list".

I can see the EhMac logo fine, everything else is fine.

And it only happens on some of the forums is visit - others display no problems.

Cheers

Same experience here, but what bothers me most is the complete lack of any response here from tech support. Where the hell are they?

Patrick, Don: Just to confirm - which ehMac layout theme are you using?

And just where does one find such an option???

And BTW: How did you post that graphic as it displays completely different than in a usual "attachment box" I generally always see. I don't think I've ever seen the same as yours before.

PS: Now I also have to scroll multiple pages to the right just to access the "Post Reply" button at the bottom right corner.

This thread's window size worked well until hexdiy posted his large photo, now some text following that doesn't wrap properly.

Lot's of things getting mucked up here it seems.

EDIT: Gheese, talk about hiding a setting!!!:
My ehmac.ca view I finally found is set to "Fixed Width"

Edit 2:
Changing to "Fluid Width" doesn't improve things much and no real difference, especially on page 1 of this thread for me.

Either way, page 2 text wraps properly when reading but the page width just about triples when replying so I must scroll to the right just to get the "Send Reply" button to show.
Edit and Save Changes stay where they should.

All in all a bit of a mess that needs fixing I'd say and a bit of some admins help.

Sorry I've posted this big a pic. Normally, on any other forum, the size auto- adjusts.

Only on ehmac am I experiencing these width issues, happens for no obvious reasons.

@ Cubamark: where do you find these width options exactly? Thanks!

I did mention above that it was on the bottom-left of the ehMac page ;)

...I'm.... special? ;) Seriously, though. The graphic was just a screenshot of the pop-up (click the pop up to open it; command-shift-4-space for the camera option in screen capture, click on the pop-up menu). I dropped it into my Dropbox (I keep a folder where I drop graphics that I want to post), copied the Dropbox link, then just used the usual insert image option in ehMac to add the Dropbox link, replacing the "dl=0" at the end with "raw=1" which forces it to load as a graphic, not a Dropbox page.

Sorry to hear that adjusting that setting didn't help much. I've not noticed the behaviour you describe in any of the versions of OS X I use across my personal / work computers (from 10.6.8 through 10.11 to 10.12).

Do you employ any other adjustments to your displays? A custom CSS file in Safari? Extensions?

And for the record - here's what I get in the bottom of the "Advanced Edit" window here at ehMac:

Strange: neither in "Fluid Width", nor in "Fixed Width" do I seem to be able to avoid these sudden jumps in text width.

With the icons,I get the same question marks you are getting.

I too am seeing this particular thread alone in extra-wide 70mm IMAX format :).
It happens occasionally in some threads where people by mistake post large
images like heady did here.

And @CubaMark, that picture you posted about the Advanced Edit window -
that's exactly what I too see; plus, I also see the same thing in the screen that
shows the list of topics/threads, in the column immediately to the Left of the
thread title.

In fact, I edited this post and added hard Carriage Returns on each line so that
people do not need to scroll all the way just to read what I typed.

Cheers

Any images being linked from a site that isn't HTTPS won't show on Chrome or Firefox, they will show on Edge.
Unfortunately, there isn't a fix for this. All sites will be updating to HTTPS eventually so this won't be an issue down the line.
