Too many products in one forum / expand troubleshooting forums for different products

iPod & iTunes, iPhone & Apple TV for one forum?

Um... it's getting too much, non?

It's just getting hard now to navigate through the forums and it'll only get worse once the iPhone becomes widely (or more wider, anyway) in Canada.

iPod and iTunes as a forum makes sense.

iPhone forum makes sense.

Apple TV (perhaps to expand to any visual digital recording and playing software & hardware for Macs) makes sense.

Bundled together? I end up having to depend more and more on the forum 'search' box and that's pretty hit-n-miss since some posters' titles may not be descriptive right off the bat to get picked up in a search.

Same thing with the troubleshooting pages. If people are naturally asking troubleshooting questions about Apple TV in the iPod & iTunes, iPhone & Apple TV forum, why not just make an Apple TV-specific troubleshooting forum?

I always come to ehmac for questions (as the number of my posts will attest to) or am I just too organized?

:lmao:

I don't like splitting the forums that much.

The iPod / iTunes forum does not get that many posts. The only time I would split the forum, is if posts from one day were "scrolling" off the page.

If I split that forum, there would be even more clicking around and navigating.

Perhaps I'm looking too far into the future when Apple TV and the iPhone becomes more popular (futurist that I am). Then I can definitely see a glut of posts in a forum trying to accommodate four distinct products and associated troubleshooting problems with products that don't have separate troubleshooting forums.

Just thought I'd be the canary bird in the coal mine and mention that some of the forums are, for me, getting crowded.

On the other hand, isn't it grand that this is an issue for me since just a year ago, we didn't even *have* to worry about the iPhones and Apple TV problem? :lmao:

I'd be delighted if there was so much chat about iPhone's that it warranted creating a seperate forum. :)
