You can purchase a chicken for a region in the world where it is needed to ensure that communities have access to products, like eggs, wool or milk. With the holiday season fast approaching, a gift like this to honour your friends and colleagues with in a nice card could be a new idea this year. https://secure.oxfam.ca/unwrapped/gift.php?gift_id=4&elid=chicken

This is one of the better aid campaigns available, and has a good reputation as a way of giving - because it's Oxfam.

There are several products in the catalog - chicken, sheep, donkey, beehive, as well as other very specific funding directions (gender violence training; disaster preparedness kit; etc.).

Well worth consideration if you have a development / foreign aid sort of mindset, or if you're just looking for something different to give this year.
