There's a Globe and Mail article on the one million downloads at PureTracks too with this:

"By comparison, Apple Computer Corp.'s iTunes service crossed the four-month mark with 10 million downloads, although that service's U.S. customer base is also roughly 10 times the size of the comparable market in Canada. By December, iTunes had announced that downloads had topped 25 million."

Except that for the first 4 months the US service was only available to Mac users.... So the numbers are hardly comparable and PureTrack's less impressive. Even so, Apple is letting the rest of the world catch up (Canada, Europe, Japan). Perhaps they don't care?

Meanwhile Microsoft makes pretty with Disney after Pixar walks away and Comcast launches a hostile take-over bid of Disney.
