Why iMac? Does the "i" stand for something?

The "i" in "iMac" originally meant "internet Mac" because it was touted as "internet ready". Apple marketed it as "up and running on the internet in 10 minutes" or something like that when they first launced it.

The "e" in "eMac" means "education Mac".

The "eh" in "ehMac" can mean a variety of things, such as "---insert your meaning here---".

Eh?

:D

Originally, the "i" started out as internet. But I think it evolved to bbecome a catchy marketing thing for their entire consumer product line - iBook, iPod, iTunes etc.

I don't think the "i" for the internet is relavent term anymore for their products. It was catchy and just stuck.

i is me, I mean i, and me, I mean it is my mac. i am the owner, it is my mac, but it is called iMac because its my mac, it was made for i, or me... maybe....

I, as in i, think it is for Internet.

On second thought ( I really have to stop drinking)
Does the saying not go like this?

i before e except after c or when it says eh!

So if it is i, or when it says eh then it must be ehMac!

Full circle.
