An American retired. He wanted to use his retirement money wisely, so it would last, and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal.

The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15 yrs. The owner and wife both had died, and there were no heirs. The house was sold pretty well only to pay taxes.

There had been several lookers, but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been welded shut. Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway – so, nobody made an offer on the place.

The guy bought it, moved in and set about to tear in to the barn so, he and his wife bought a generator and a couple of grinders and cut through the welds.

What was in the barn? Go to:

and join the rest of us who wish we had bought this place.

There is a good story waiting to be written of why these vehicles were locked up.
Nice find for the new owners. Spend your retirement fixing a few of these up.
Worrisome though, were they acquired, ahem, legally by the previous owner?

I suspect Jay Leno will be on his way to grab a few.:D

Shame they've been sitting in that barn for ages on end, caked in dust like that.

On the other hand, cool they've been sitting in that barn, caked in dust. A time capsule. Who cares if it's a story that's been tweaked. A great story all the same.
