I even considered posting on the ad something to the effect of "be careful about this one", but that would have been against forum rules, and would have been unfair if the person had been legit. I feel sorry for you but you have to have a sense that the deal was too good to be true, and that maybe you shouldn't send this guy money.

Chastisement aside, I applaud the initiative and help shown by so many members in raising this issue and the awareness of various side-effects with such deals.

I myself am too chicken to do non face2face deals.
