Here's another SuperDuper question. As I wait for a Leopard compatible SD, I have been wondering how to do both a SD clone on an external drive while at the same time copying non-clone items from another Mac onto the same drive, or do I need to have a separate partition? In other words, on my 160 gig drive, I will be doing a clone from my MacBook as well as updating a downloads folder from my G5.

I don't know how big your 'source' drive is for the full clone, but it's likely that partitioning might be best. Carbon Copy Cloner is Leopard compatible, and allows you to choose a full clone, or just a copy of chosen files and folders. It'll do what you want to do.
