Stupid question...please help

I'm having some problems with my Mac, so i'm planning on doing a fresh install of OS X. I have 2 internal HD's and 1 external. Obviously, the drive I choose to reinstall OS X on is going to get wiped clean, but my question is...the 2nd internal drive will be left as it is, right? In other words, I can stick all my important documents and such on the 2nd internal drive and they'll all still be there after the fresh install. Right?

Again, please forgive me for this naive question...i've just never done this before and would rather play it safe.

Thanks!

It doesn't have to wipe the drive. Once you get started on the installation, the OS install should give you the option to "Archive and Install" which will move your previous system to a separate folder you can still access.
I much prefer the complete erase option. It's faster and assures you of getting rid of the problem. Only the drive or volume (Partition) you choose to erase will be erased.

When backing up be sure to remember your Address Book, any important eMails (or back up Mail) and of course Bookmarks. I am not sure why, but people have a terrible tendency to forget these items.:)

Super Duper will allow you to clone, or make a disk image of, the entire system before you erase it. If you clone, the HD or Partition you clone to will be erased.
