Stronger Canadian Currency Rocks!

The new iMacs are only $100 more for Canadian pricing. On the base 24" model, the exchange rate is even more favourable to us. $1899 CDN v. $1799 US. Yay!

The iLife and iWork are at par! Yay!

And the Mac Mini is only $649 CDN v. $599 US. Yay!

Edit: Added figures.

Even better, the new iLife and iWork are only $79 each - and the Eaton Centre store has them in stock already!

Yeah, Apple's finally updating some pricing to reflect our dollar. :) It's a good thing.

The Mini's dropped a fair bit -- $649 vs. $679 and $849 vs. $899.
Jeez I just noticed that - Amazing!

Finally.

The specs on the 2.8 Model are quite powerful. I'm gonna order one in 5,4,3,2,1..............
:)
It's aboot time they adjusted the pricing. For a while there it was cheaper to buy in the US which is not a good thing for us dealers...

Now they need to do the same thing for the rest of the line-up.
Upgrading memory and hard drive cheaper in the Canadian store for the Mini.
No change in the Airport Extreme base station still $199 even though they upgraded it to gigabit.
Dot Mac - US$99 but CAN Freakin' $139.
That is just insulting. There is no excuse for that. Apple Canada can't claim that they "bought the product when the Canadian dollar was lower and if they sold it at today's adjusted dollar price, they'd lose money".
Absolutely no excuse.
Jeez, my youngest aunt bought the "old" 24-inch iMac two months ago.

And my other aunt is going to buy the new 24-inch iMac. Newer, more powerful, looks better, and CHEAPER!

I can sense my youngest aunt is gonna be mad mad mad

Don't freakin' get me started! Grrr...
Let Apple know how you feel about this. Clearly something's out-of-whack given that most other products just had their prices cut.

Apple - .Mac - Feedback
While I deplore the .Mac pricing here, the Brits have it worse than us. dotMac costs them 69 GBP, which works out to about 140 USD! And have you seen the price of the new low-end iMac: 799 GBP. That's about 1630 USD.

Ouch.
Their Mac mini RAM upgrades are about twice as expensive as ours, also.
.Mac Pricing

Just a tip for those who don't want to pay the canadian price for .mac service.
Sign up online at apple and enter a US address and zip code. You will then be charged the american price.

Remember to put the state and zipcode under your billing address as well. This will work even if you use a Canadian credit card.

Just order from ebay. I have ordered applecare and .mac from ebay at least a handful of times, without a hitch and been saving money every time.
You can also get .Mac from Amazon.ca for $119 (as a last resort, I suppose). So there's absolutely no reason to pay the full price.
