I'm trying to checkout but it doesn't seem to be working. Could be that showing the mac instock is a mistake they're trying to fix...
Wow, you're right. No longer OOS for me in GTA. Crazy.
definitely bluemax lol

I've been leaning towards the entry level mac mini ...but this is quite tempting lol

How about another $50.- off. Does that make it more tempting?

And this one it not the entry level iMac, as it does have a dedicated video card with memory. That was the second model in the line up. Not too bad ;)

Where does the discount coupon come from?
No More!

Looks like you took the last one ;)
I just checked and they're out of stock...

Wasn't me, I didn't order one. I just checked to see how many discount coupon codes I could use.
Staples has regional stock, so just because your region is out of stock doesn't mean every other region is as well.
And the coupon codes are just published in various places on the net. Just type in the five-digit number on the order page and "apply" it.

Is there anyway to order one from another region? That price and the coupons make it a truly tough deal to pass up.

Steve
they were gone by the time I checked this morning. I think it was a glitch in the system to show them as being in stock.

Could have been, but at 5:20 this morning the system still showed them in stock for me. Could have only been one or two.
When you see a deal like that, you can't stop to think - you have to jump on it right away if that's the product you want.

As to ordering them from another region - I think shipping will be an issue unless you have someone in that region who can receive it.
If you delete the Staples cookies, the web site will ask you for your postal code again and you can pretend to be from another region to check stock.
But at prices like that, the Macs are going to fly off the shelves.
This is just killing me.... No money and I don't want to hit my credit rating... :(
norwscraper,

Wow, that is a great deal. I bought mine last December and it was like $1400.00, if only I could have waited. I love mine and am quite happy with it. Of course now they have a newer one which looks amazing.
Found 1 in stock

A local store has one, the display model for $900.
I have a 1.8 gig hrtz 17" IMac G5 first gen. with BT and Airport, 2 G mem.
Would it sell for $700?

not likely. Other sellers with more modern G5's are having trouble @ 650. :(

then again... you do have max RAM.

It's possible... but not probable.

Interesting that the Mac mini, used, sells for $350-$450. For a few hundreds more the used Imac is a bigger bang for the bucks. Guess all the various Imac releases is what brings the price down...

I think the 17" screen is the problem.
Prices have dropped so much on LCD screens in the last year or so, I would never buy a 17" screen now. They currently go for just over $150.-
HL Technology - Buy HANNS.G 17INCH WIDESCREEN LCD 1440X900 8MS 500:1 DVI BLACK (MODEL: HW173DBB) In Canada
So a Mac Mini with the equivalent screen size would only be $500 to $600 and if something goes wrong with the screen, you just replace it for $150.-
I don't think you can replace an iMac screen for $150.-
