Spiderman 3

Without giving anything away... just saw Spiderman 3, and found it to be a good ride, if terribly derivative of the first two movies. Of course, it's a sequel of a sequel, but still.

Thoughts?

I'll see it in 3 weeks to avoid the fan stampede. ;) I can't imagine what the IMAX theatre is like tonight...

I was just coming here to ask if anyone knew of an IMAX theatre where it's showing. The grandkids and I were looking forward to seeing it at our IMAX, but it isn't on the list of current showing and now word if it ever will be :(

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it HowEver - I look forward to seeing it.

Next comes Shrek the Third .......

I just got back from watching it on the IMAX at silvercity West Edmonton Mall.it started at 8:00 and we got there at 7:15.so we were one of the last to get in we had to sit in the second row, which was way to close. But it was still a great show:clap:
Effects were excellent.

Script not so great.

Acting - horrible.

...and minus 5 points for gratuitous Spidey-with-fullscreen-US-flag-in-background shot.

Couldn't wait for it to be over.

I'm waiting to see it at a drive in. It's the best way to watch a summer blockbuster IMO. Especially if it involves an overnight at a motel...;)
Just came back from seeing Spiderman III.

Positive Elements:

- good special effects. Glad to see that they cleaned up the CGI a bit from the last two installments
- nice to see Venom on the big screen. Topher Grace was great as was Hayden -Church
- Jameson was funny as ever!

Negative Elements:

- cheesy, drawn out dialogue
- seemed like five or six movies cobbled into one
- the theatre burst out laughing at two scenes: one where Harry's butler confesses his love for his father and Harry (reminded me of the scene in School of Rock! Remember?!), the other where Spidey/Parker bursts out crying when Harry dies.

Oh well.
See less See more
Too much crying, emo Parker was ridiculous, but overall a fun movie. Worth seeing in the theatres.
I thought it was the worst of three – they keep getting cheesier. Particularly hated the way the film introduced the "new" Peter Parker. But thought it was still ok for the drive-in.

My 12-year-old loved it.
I will probably go and see it soon but I do think that Venom and the black costume could have waited for at least a couple of more sequels. Spiderman's Rogue gallery has allot more villains that deserved to be in a movie than Venom for one the already introduced Doc Conners will eventually turn himself into The Lizard, I always thought that Spiderman's best villain was Kraven the Hunter he definitely deserves a shot at the big screen. With any luck the producers and writers stay away from the obvious and don't introduce Carnage in Spiderman 4.

Laterz :)
at the end i was left wondering if this was a peter jackson film, the way the director exhibited no self control. 3 totally unrelated villains and accompanying story lines.

bad film, great effects on everything but spidy himself, who always looks fake in the action sequences.
