People frequently ask me where to get cheap memory for old 7500-9600 class macs,

Well, here is a source.

http://www.vfxweb.com/index.asp?action=itemv&ia=details&ItemId=3293

These are old IBM P6 servers, they use the 5v EDO DIMM's used in the old PCI macs,

The computer is basically worthless, (hence it's price tag) but the memory alone still costs quite a bit. And 128mb will give any old mac a quick.

These DIMM's are compatible with all PCI Pre-G3 macs with the exception of the 7200 that requires fastpage

I've bought lot's or RAM, Macs and other things from these guys over the last 18 months or so. Very good deals.

I question how good of a deal this would be though... I've got a lot of the RAM that came out of these machines, most of it is 16MB/DIMM and some is 32MB/DIMM. It is pretty easy to get 128MB DIMM's in the US for $20-25 US, and with the stronger CAD $ right now, they aren't too expensive. I've got a bunch of those, too!

I always bought my RAM DIMM's for my 7300 on Ebay,
The cheapest price I paid for two 64 mb "5v" DIMM's
was $30.00 Canadian and the guy let me pick them up in T.O.

64's are quite often just as much as the 128's. Sometimes more...

I quite often use the 128's in the 5400/5500/6400/6500 models that only recognize 64 because I used to be able to get them cheaper.
