Aha, a symetrical mouse... nice
Keyboards and mice are one area Apple sucks. They need to whisk away the MS team.
 Don't you even sleeeeep?

The only company that can make keyboards is IBM. Comes from their typewriter heritage.

I sure hope that the new iMac doesn't come out with a crappy MacBook-style keyboard. That would be enough to seriously delay a purchase...
Never :D - it's hot - napped earlier.

The MS KBs are very similar to the IBM - tall keys - well spaced - excellent touch and feedback.

I love mine - the wrist rest i polished from use( had a light pebble finish )

You can see how tall the keys are.

Very nice. Too bad you can't remove KB + mouse from the iMac (although I think you can for the Mini)
Still no problems at all with my Mighty Mouse, which I bought the day the model was released a while back. And it still suits me just fine. :)
... and after a thorough cleaning, start a habit of washing your hands... OFTEN! ;)

Man, how my fingers were SO STRONG in the days I used the IBM keyboard. I did some serious finger body building with those beasts. I could have easily poked out Muhammed Ali's eyes if it wasn't for the Queensbury Rules. However, they were terrible for noise. No midnight hacking in those days (that's why I bought a cheap Chicony keyboard).

I have been hoping that Apple would revert to the Pro Keyboard like I have, with the white letters on black keys. It has given me nothing but excellent service. I consided a wireless keyboard, but then I had nightmare of the wireless keyboard on my IBM PCjr...

And I have been using a Logitech Marble Mouse trackball for the past month because my Pro Mouse has been ruining the finish on the top of my desk. I have really got to like using the trackball, though I also use the Pro Mouse when I have to do fine editing. I couldn't take myself to using equipment peddled by the Evil Empire...

Funny had the 8000 sitting by my desk for several months waiting for the Explorer to die. Got fed up with too often battery swaps so set it up tonight.

Have to say I like the shape/feel of the assymetrical Explorer but the scroll wheel is worth the price of admission on the 8000 and I did not have to change my Steermouse settings at all

No more battery changes - charging pad and very quick charging.
Buttons have a lighter touch - mouse is a tad narrower which I do not like.
Very smooth on the 3M pad ( a must have for heavy mouse users ).

Pricey but nice.
The 8000 looks very tempting. BestBuy has it on sale right now for $59.99. I've been looking for a Bluetooth mouse for the iMac. I have a WMM for the Macbook, but the right and left click are a bit of a pain, and it's not the most comfortable. I love the scroll ball though, a joy to use.

Do you know if I can use the 8000 without plugging in the USB charger, and just swap the battery when needed? I'd like to go Bluetooth to lose the unsightly wires.
