Set default view in Finder?

3333 Views 5 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  duosonic
I have forgotten how to set the default view in my Finder. Usually when I click on my Finder, I like to see column view and my home folder. I seem to have defaulted to a Library folder view. How do I get it to remember?
Thanks in advance.

In 10.3.9. at least, open a Finder window, go to Finder Preferences; under "General" you can select "Open new windows in column view". Voila!
No, that isn't what I mean.

When I click on the finder in the dock, a window opens. It has my drives on the left, and usually has my home folder open in column view.

Now it opens with my Library folder open in column view. It used to remember my default view. Now it doesn't. What do I do so it remembers the default view?
OK - again, in the Finder Preferences, General: "New Finder windows open:" and then there's a drop down menu to make your selection from. Hope that helps.
Glad to help.
