Hey guys,

I've been approached by someone who wants to purchase a domain name that I have registered to me, however, as I've never gone about selling a domain I had a few questions that I thought maybe someone could answer.

I had this domain both registered and hosted by the same company, however, when cutting back I had to stop paying for the hosting. Now, since I no longer use their hosting services, does this domain still belong to me until the registration expires? Whois still shows my info. If so, will this company be co-operative in assisting with the transfer of said domain to another individual?

Thanks guys,
James

Domain registration and domain hosting are independent of each other.
The domain name is yours for as long as you pay the registrar the annual renewal. You can host that domain anywhere you choose, including nowhere.
