SD card not reading anymore

Hi so I found this site trying to research what a solution to one of my many problems, and being Canadian I love it already.

Ive been using an SD card with a reader for over a year now to store lots of my data, and yesterday when I plugged it in to the USB slot on my macboook, it wasn't recognized anymore

The error I get is as follows: "Disk Insertion, The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" then it lists three options, "Initialize, Ignore, and Eject".

Clicking Ignore doesn't do anything, and if I click Initialize doesn't that reformat my card which will erase all my info?

Any ideas?

Thanks :)

If your SD card can be read and written fine in your camera, the SD reader may be defective. Can you try it with another computer?
Yeah I'll try it on another computer tonight or tomorrow. I don't know if it's the reader since the green light is on. However that doesn't mean much if it's not working now does it ? ha ha .
