I think i have finally found one drive that i can work on my Lacie tower raid, i know the drive is failing as i was talking to the seller yesterday saying that the drive is pooched as he tried to wipe the drive, but he can't.

QUESTION is..........
is there an adapter from a SCSI to sata. as i would love to put in a SSD disk in that case.
i haven't got the chance to take one of those apart yet, so not entirely sure how many pins those drives have.

Nope. Sorry. Very different technologies.

Will have to replace drive with whatever SCSI drive it takes, set to the ID it needs (if 68pin) or not if 80pin hotswap.

I am unfamiliar with the Lacie, but can tell you with certainy you cannot adapt an SATA or SAS drive to work with A SCSI interface and controller. Other way around, can adapt a SCSI drive to IDE.
