Safari on Vista Business

Safari does not work for me at all on Vista Business. It installs with no difficulty but when I start the app, it starts up but only renders about 20% of the page and that is it. It then completely freezes. I must say I am disappointed as I was looking forward to trying this on my windows box as I am a diehard Safari user on my Mac.

I guess that's what happens when you try to build an app for an OS that has 10 different flavours. Maybe that was M$' plan all along.

Ten different flavours of Vista is because the legacy userbase on the PC side is FAR bigger and older than the Mac userbase. Releasing only ONE full-tilt version of Vista would orphan -- and **** off -- A LOT of users. So, those that are buying new comps -- and whose programs properly run on Vista -- can buy a system with Vista Ultimate, or people can choose to upgrade their existing hardware to run ultimate. OR, people with older systems can get SOME of the Vista improvements and run the lessor forms of Vista without a big cash lay-down.

The thankless job MS has is trying to get the OS and the myriad of hardware permutations on the PC platform out there to work together. This is of course something that we as users of Apple's vertical integration have little problem with.
Safari on my XP machine generates a memory error everytime I close the app, other than that it works fine. I haven't tried it on my Vista Home Premium computer yet.
I installed Safari on my Home Premium system and have not had any problems.

Slow though.
As I have mentioned in previous posts here, Safari on my Vista Ultimate PC is also slow. It got a little faster initially when I re-installed without Bonjour but since slowed down again to 56k speed it seems.

I know it's Beta but Apple usually releases high quality beta's. And seriously, what's with the performance claims? FireFox beta's were never this buggy.
