What a load of bunk.

It doesn't matter if Safari displays photos properly with their 'imbedded ICC profiles'. This would ONLY matter if every web viewer calibrated their monitor properly using specialized hardware. 99.999% of people viewing the LL Bean Catalogue don't have a calibrated monitor, are using 100 different types of monitors, with 1000 different settings of contrast and brightness. If you want your colours displayed as 'true', you print a catalogue. There is no way to ensure a person visiting your website is seeing the colour you really want them to see.

What makes you think printing is any better?
I get vastly different colours on my two printers and when I use different paper, I get different colours again.
And I don't have a clue how to adjust the printer to a "true" colour.

In fact, a lot of the commercial printed advertizing material one gets in the mail specifically states that the colour may not be a true representation of the product.
