"... iPhone not a phone?
Apple recently registered trademarks in the UK and Australia under the product name of iPhone. However, an US trademark has not yet been registered; interestingly enough, Apple has owned the domain iPhone.org for years now and the URL currently loads Apple.com. While past rumors of an Apple branded hybrid cellphone have created quite a stir, it is being rumored that iPhone may actually be a new iApp, for the purpose of communicating through video conferencing software. Apple has made several past hints about video conferencing and is known to be developing such technologies. Video conferencing was originally rumored to be a future iChat feature. As a matter of fact, buried in the resource files of early iChat builds, there where [sic] buttons suggesting such a feature, whether they are in hidden in current versions, is unknown... I guess we will just have to wait and see, all that we can assume is Apple appears to be planning to release something with the name of iPhone.
