I was really hoping 2016 was safely in the past. Wishful dreaming I guess.

One of only a handful of celebrities I wish I had met.

She was a strong advocate for diabetes.

Even here in Europe, she was an icon, and will be missed!

Dear me, in the 1970ies we had 3 aerial TV channels, 5 at best, and she was on 1 of them with her show...

Getting old are we?

In Canada the CBC would broadcast the MTM Show--with one minute cut out to make room for extra commercials.

Saw this yesterday, and have been humming it off and on since then. Loved that show.

There is no such thing as safely in the past when it comes to death. It is the only constant and will happen every year, sometimes less and sometimes more.

Same as it ever was.

80-year-old diabetic, in poor condition since at least 2012 - hardly a shocker.
Oh so cold chasMac, have at least a little bit of decency and respect. If you are so cold to MTM, who millions loved, then I can only imagine how cold people will be when you die.

She was probably best known for the Mary Tyler Show but lest we forget she was great in the Dick Vandyke Show when she was very young. She was terrific and hot to boot (as a young boy of 6 or 7 I thought she was beautiful and in my mind at the time really sexy.)

She was a gifted actor and fought long and hard for women's rights and pay equity in the old boys club of Hollywood.

May she rest in piece.
