Ditto on being a character, I still remember him telling Sheila Copps to 'settle down, baby! :D
Yes, those two had their moments.

Rex knew him quite well. I met John Crosbie once and had a short chat with him, in that he wanted to know why I chose to come to Memorial Univ to teach. I also had a chance to meet Rex Murphy a few times and we chatted about both John Crosbie and Abe Lincoln.
