I was at the Yorkdale Apple Store yesterday and was told that they sometimes carry "refreshed" minis for $100 or more off list price. This is similar to refurbished prices from Apple but as I understand the difference, refreshed are newly bought, recently returned units and refurbs are reconditioned. Also as I understand it, you know exactly what you're paying for with refreshed, whereas with refurbs, you sometimes get upgraded parts you don't pay for. I have read past ehMac threads on refurbs, but there is little in them or other threads about refreshed. I am curious about people's experience with and opinion of these.

I once bought a refreshed Macbook base model when the Core 2 Duos came out. It was $799 down from $1199. All the Apple Stores had them at these prices pretty much. And the Ram upgrade to 1GB was the cheapest at $90 plus tax. AppleStore online had some good prices also on the refurbished and I believe some had Ram upgrades.
