Respectively, its 64 MB RAM and 128 MB RAM, off the bat but then there's some small details in the descriptions of each. On the ATI site:

Radeon 9700 Pro
• First to fully support the latest OpenGL® functionality in Mac® OS X 10.2 and above
• Supports the AGP 4X standard, providing a high-speed link between the graphics board and your PowerMac® G4

Radeon 9000 Pro
• Comprehensive Mac® OS X and OpenGL® support

So, does the 9000 lack the OS X.x compatiblity of the 9700? Does the 9000 not support the AGP 4X standard?

I'm looking for more of professional/workplace videocard for high-end graphic work (not DV). Any suggestions? Currently I'm still plowing along with the good ol' 16 MB Rage128 Pro.

The ATI 9000 Pro does support AGP 4x for sure, and it is fully compatible with OS X and renders OpenGL just dandy.

On the PC, the 9000 is just a slightly modified 8500, so I would assume that it is a similar situation on the Mac side as well.

Of course, the 9700 on the PC supports AGP8x and a few other things....
