Hi all, a quick question: when I format my new external hard drive, do I need to partition it with a FAT32 partition so that my Boot Camp partition will back up correctly, or will the external drive be partitioned automatically when I clone the internal?

I'd like to clone the entire internal drive in one shot if possible.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I was wondering about that a while back and upon research, I found these instructions or you can use this app.

I don't use boot camp so, unfortunately I have not tried either.

Hi Daktari, thanks for that info. I think I found an easier way:

Since my WinXP partition is FAT32, I used Disk Utility to clone a compressed image of that partition, and saved the image to my OS X partition. I then just back up the OS X partition to my external drive.

Thanks again for your help!
