Powerbook vs Macbook - Logic Pro 7

Hey guys,

Ive been a mac user for about 2-3 years now. My first mac was a 12inch Powerbook 1.5 that is still in use. I love it to death and even picked up a 15inch model and gave the smaller one to my sister. I mostly use the laptop for composing tracks in Logic Pro 7 as well as recording audio.

After years of service, I think it might be time for an upgrade. I have started to notice the PB is getting a bit sluggish with all the new AU's/plugins being loaded into sessions. Ive been looking at the Macbook's and wanted to know if this was a good way to go?

If anyone has any suggestions on what would be the best way to upgrade without spending a lot of money, do let me know. A desktop solution might work too.

Thanks:)

In my experience...
the MB is powerful enough to run Logic, but...
the larger screen of the MBP is a must for Logic.
If you use it with an external monitor AND don't do much or any location work then the MB might be an option. For a better deal on an MBP try Applestore refurbs (also EOL at Apple retail outlets).
Thanks for the reply vacuvox.
I am making a trip to the Applestore today and will see if they got good deals
