i recently came across this site that sells superdrive upgrades for G4 400mhz-1ghz powerbooks w/ combo or dvd drives. i was wondering if anyone knows any place in canada that may offer the superdrive upgrade for manual installation.

Macresq is fine to deal with and we looked at the procedures - MCE offers products and Digital Prototypes in Mississauga is authorized to install them.

That said we are skeptical as we are leery of the TiBooks mechanically and internal DVDRWs are expensive and slooooooow.
An external FW DVDRW can be as low as $333 and trades to the Aluminum series look more practical.

Caveat emptor on this kind of upgrade. We LOVE upgrades but this one is a bit dicey.
