I listed this in perhaps the wrong thread. Issue not yet resolved. Problem seems to have started on March 29, 2019. Since 90% of the site visitors do not log, in this issue should be addressed.

What the Everything Else category looks like when not logged in. If you click on the last page of a recent thread it will take you to March 29th of that thread, regardless of later posts and pages.

What the Everything Else category looks like 30 seconds later after logging in. Clicking on last page for any thread behaves normally.

I'm not sure which of your posts I should reply to as they are both consisting of the same thread question.

But, FWIW, I have never really noticed the situation you describe, even if it does exist, but then again, I never have to log in and maybe that's because I don't log out, even when I go about visiting other websites.

Actually, whenever I come or come back to this site, I usually hit "Quick Links" and select "Todays Posts". That usually gets most messages arranged in the order I can deal with.

Sometimes, actually quite often, the arrangement doesn't always make sense from what the title says:
The threads below have not been updated since your last visit or since forums have been marked read.

Updated threads used to always show in bold, which is not always the case now, but it's been that way for some time now.

But why not just login and not bother logging out and then you should always be logged in when you get back to the site??? Works for me.

Hello there,

This update was to do this intentionally. Users who aren't logged in will notice a delay in certain sections.
The reason for this is to optimize the best experience for users who are logged out.
This will also help with site speed and security for logged in users.

How does making new threads virtually invisible improve things for those who do not log in?

With regards to threads not updating when you're logged out.
We recently added Cloudflare to the site to provide an optimum experience for users for both site speed and security.
This programme prioritizes users who are logged in first so visitors to the site won't see the most up to date content. I'd say that's whats going on here.

Which does not resolve the issue. I do see that the 'current' non-logged in post list now relates to April 28th rather than March 28th.

Yes, it is extremely irritating to have to log in to see if there have been any changes to whatever thread happens to interest me at the time.

this isn't the final form of cloudflare. We understand that this is an issue and our team will try to work on ways to improve how the site runs.
