It's also a great series of articles for regular Mac users. I encourage everyone to check them out, if only to learn those reserved keyboard shortcuts and what they are supposed to do.

If you create programs in Java, then you can use them anywhere with little or no work to port them.
The only problem I have with java is it is slow on Windows, much faster on Mac OsX though.

As the saying goes, "write once, debug everywhere".

At least a Java program under Mac OS X looks like any other Mac OS X program (in that they use the same widgets). On other platforms, a Java application sticks out like a sore thumb.
