In the past you could always download a free 1 month un-crippled trial. Can you still do that from Adobe?

I've already downloaded PE 2018 from the Mac App Store.

I was just wondering if anyone else is presently using it.

PE 2018 Support Files Folder

If I was to download Photoshop Elements 2018 from Adobe, to an iMac using OS 10.13.2, where would the ‘Support Files’ and ‘Plug-ins’ folder be?

Download a copy of Find Any File.app and do some searching on your hard drive for some of the associated names:
Thomas Tempelmann - Find Any File

I'm sure they'll show up and be included in some of the paths.

And PS: Is there anything helpful in the app's Help topics or their support site???

Thanks pm-r, I know where the plug-in folder is for the PE 2018 that I downloaded from the Mac App Store, and it sure isn't where the folder was/is now with previous versions of PE downloaded from Adobe.

So again, the info that I'm really looking for, is anyone who is actually using PE 2018, either purchased from the Mac App Store, or directly from Adobe.

Okay, I had purchased Photoshop Elements 2018 from the Mac App Store, and wondered why my plugins would't work.

After futile/frustrating attempts to get an answer as to why wouldn't, I finally received a concise and definitive answer from Topaz Labs.

My queries on the Apple forum.

Note the first reply that I received from a member on the App Store forum. The one with the gargantuan number of points.

My query on the Adobe forum.

And finally, an answer in less than 24 hours.

Hi Eugene,

Thank you for contacting Topaz Labs!

Plugins cannot be used with App Store applications, unfortunately. This is due to a requirement placed on the App Store by Apple, called Sandboxing. Sandboxing prevents applications from sending data between one another, which prevents the use of plugins. I'd recommend requesting a refund, and purchasing PS Elements 2018 directly from Adobe.

Our utilities do not touch on App Store applications, as these cannot be modified in any way, regardless of what scripts we write. This is a restriction of using the Mac App Store, unfortunately, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns, and I will be happy to assist!
Respectfully,

Now comes my, hopefully non-futile, attempt to receive a refund from the Mac App Store.

And to download Adobe Photoshop Elements 16 directly from Adobe.

This, among other things, is exactly why I hardly ever use the Apple Store if I can avoid it, especially when there is a choice to download directly from the developer.

It's been that way for years even if some old members, most now since being removed, would state in their Apple FanBoy ways that such was not the case.

Lot's of luck with your refund and they should be more open and honest about the details of the apps they provide.

PS: I'd be investigating if any such plugins can be used properly if disabling the SIG(System Integrity Protection), at least for an install???
